308 SMW ALUMNI NEWSLETTER

SUBJECT: 2007 Reunion Wrap Up       12 Oct 2007

To the Men and Women of the 308th SMW:

The 2007 missile wing reunion concluded on 16 September in Little Rock Arkansas. Although not as
spectacular as the 2005 event, we did draw 60 former alumni and over 90 attendees at our Saturday
banquet. A couple of important milestones were accomplished during this meeting. The first is we now
have an official banner to display at every reunion (see website front page). Special thanks go to our
webmaster Ed Smith who completed this project in time for the reunion. Second, the alumni raised
$833.00 for the Jacksonville Military Museum. These funds help our curator, Vince Maes, to continue to
expand the 308 SMW historical exhibit. Helping the museum has become the mission of our alumni
association and shows our continued support for the Jacksonville community.

Upon conclusion of the Saturday banquet, the focus turned to future alumni plans. Attendees voted
unanimously to hold our next reunion at Little Rock, preferably during the fall timeframe. The vote for
WHEN was very close; thus it would be either 2009 or 2010. Lastly, folks voted overwhelmingly to
convert our organization into a more formal membership. This will be a top priority for the coming year,
as we learn how to complete this transition.

In parting, I would like to extend special recognition to Ron Shertzer, Ed Smith, Bud Laumer, Dan
Reichel, Vince Maes, and others who helped plan this reunion. Please remember to support our troops
of today, and honor those 308th SMW members no longer with us. So stay in touch and make a special
effort to locate other former wing members!

Sincerely,

Not So Wild Bill Leslie,

Reunion Committee Chairman
